Privacy policy

We keep your name, email address and what you bought, and for a hardcover your shipping address. We use these to send your books, give you your ebook downloads, answer questions about your order and keep the records a business must keep.

Payments are handled by Stripe. Your card details go straight to Stripe and never reach this website. Stripe’s own privacy policy covers the payment itself.

Each time an ebook is downloaded we record the date, the IP address and the type of browser. This is how download limits work and how misuse is spotted. The PDF edition is marked with the buyer’s name and order number.

If you write a review, your name, star rating and review are shown on the site once Sam has approved them. Your email address is never shown. It is used to note whether you bought the book here, and to contact you about your review if needed.

If you use the contact or speaking forms, your name, email address and message are sent to Sam by email so he can reply. If you sign up for updates, we keep your email address to send them, and every email includes a way to stop.

There are no advertising or tracking cookies on this site. Your shopping cart is saved in your own browser’s storage, on your device, and isn’t sent to us until you go to checkout. Stripe’s checkout page may use its own cookies to prevent fraud.

We don’t sell your information or share it for advertising. It is handled only by the services that run the shop: Stripe for payments; Vercel, which hosts the website, its database and its files in the United States; an email delivery service for order and download emails; and the postal carrier, who needs your name and address to deliver a hardcover. Each of these keeps short technical records, such as IP addresses, to run and protect their service.

Order records are kept for as long as they are needed for accounting and tax. Download records are kept with the order they belong to. Reviews stay until they are removed, and messages stay in Sam’s email.

You can ask what information we hold about you, ask for it to be corrected, or ask for it to be deleted, except where records must be kept by law. Depending on where you live, you may have further rights over your data. To ask, use the contact page.

The site is served only over encrypted connections. Ebook files are stored privately and reached only through links that expire, and the shop’s dashboard is protected by a password and a second sign-in step.

This shop isn’t intended for children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect their information.
